Hohensalzburg Fortress
The Hohensalzburg Fortress, which sits high over the city, was erected in 1077 by the sovereign prince Gebhard I von Helffenstein. Numerous extensions took place in the following centuries to make the fortress a significant emblem of the city. There is a museum and interesting tours awaiting you in the fortress that will lure you into an exciting past.
