The Salzburg Old Town

The character of the city of Salzburg is marked by the Old Town. Here in the city centre you will find almost everything that makes the city of Mozart so special. Historic buildings and squares, Mozart immortalised as a statue and the most famous lane in Austria – the Getreidegasse. No modern and cold shopping mile, but a lane containing historical buildings and romantic charm, which means that you will certainly not need to miss your shopping experience. Those wishing to have a view of the marvellous Old Town should treat themselves to a visit to the Mönchsberg. Among other things, one finds the impressive Hohensalzburg Fortress and the Museum of Modern Art. You are carried comfortably up with a lift or the fortress railway.
